I've just returned to Canada from Sweden, where I worked as a teacher at grundskola (elementary and middle school) as a science and history/social studies teacher. As a teacher, my specific skills and interests are at-risk students, students with exceptionalities, science and inquiry-based education, and historical education.As a teacher from 2017, I taught classes of 32 students in all sciences and social studies for Canadian equivalent of grades 7-10. In 2019, I achieved recognition for teaching the classes that received the highest scores on the Swedish National Test in Science within IES A.B. In addition, I was a mentor for a class from year 7-9, which included academic coaching, behaviour development, regular parent contact, and student support. Further, I assisted designing and leading House program as Head of House 2018-2020, creating and delivering programs for the entire school population of 1,100 students. In 2020, I moved to Uppsala and helped open IES Upplands Väsby as the Head of Department for Science. While there, I designed and supplied the lab, developed departmental procedures, mentored colleagues, and assisted in co-assessment, and curriculum development, while still preparing, teaching, and assessing science courses for classes of 32 ELL students.
