SIMPLY MUSIC is a "playing based" approach to learning the piano. This approach has students of all ages learning to play the piano from the very first lesson! It also allows students the opportunity to explore their own musicality by composing, transposing, and improvising their own music. Simply Music delays the reading process which is different from "traditional" methods. Traditional lessons try to teach students to read music and play what is written from the very beginning. That can be too much to comprehend and most students end up taking lessons for years with very little results. It's like telling a baby that they have to learn to read before they can speak! I teach you to PLAY by showing you the patterns that exist in ALL MUSIC. I teach you how to play those patterns and then after about a year (once you have 30 to 40 songs under your belt) we go back and look at the sheet music and notations. You'll learn to read much faster because you already know how to PLAY the song and will experience not only rapid learning absorption, but also a sense of accomplishment at the amount of information you've learned over such a short amount of time. One of Simply Music's main goals is to "debunk" the myth that someone has to be BORN with a talent to play the piano. There is a natural musicality that we all posses and EVERYONE has it, therefore EVERYONE can learn to play! I conduct free "interviews" where you learn more about the method, explore lesson scheduling options as well as my pricing structure, and we discuss your musical goals and previous experience you might have.
