Responsible for the repair and calibration of Schenck Balancing Machines which are used to reduce vibration within most any form of rotating parts or equipment. Primarily focused on the aviation industry to balance internal engine components, with many other applications in the electric motor, pump rebuilding, and power generation sectors.Currently running the parts and service department for Ontario and Eastern Canada while also performing service calls in Alberta and Quebec as required. Servicing accounts such as OPG in Pickering, Rolls Royce-Siemens in Montreal, Pratt & Whitney in Lethbridge, and Vector Aerospace in PEI, as well as Bruce Nuclear Power near Kincardine, ON and NB Power near Saint-John, NB.Working with technology that was originally developed over 100 years ago with many generations of upgrades throughout the years requires detailed knowledge of many different types of electro-mechanical systems, vibration analysis and a good understanding of all the centrifugal force calculations needed to determine desired tolerance levels and optimum speed calculations, etc. Developed quote templates and order processing documents while also developing and implementing a factory authorized training program designed specifically for the Canadian market. Used the factory database to find new accounts and re-develop the Quebec market.Installed control system upgrades at accounts such as General Electric, Esso Oil Refinery, Howden Fans which required the ability to read schematics, review ladder diagrams and modify PLC programs, design and troubleshoot safety circuits, etc.

Responsible for the repair and calibration of x-ray machines, automatic weighing devices, and industrial metal detection systems used to check foreign contamination, product integrity, and quality control in the Food and Pharmaceutical industries.Used an oscilloscope and voltmeter on every service call while providing component level trouble shooting on vintage equipment, board level on later models.Retrofitting these systems with new parts or upgrades often required the complete reassembly of customer’s mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems which required careful planning, proper use of hand and power tools, machining and soldering equipment with focus on safety as well as the ability to read schematics and ladder diagrams, troubleshoot PLC systems, reprogramming of motor controllers, variable frequency drives, and a good understanding of radio frequency technology.Servicing x-ray systems also requires knowledge of radiation safety and the ability to provide RSO training. Annual maintenance required changing of the cooling fluids, performing radiation surveys and completing paperwork while working with high voltage power supplies, detector arrays, and safety circuits.Setup of tradeshow displays, assembly of the booth and demo equipment. Performed booth duty to provide technical recommendations and address customer issues, etc.Attended the PMMI Certified Trainer program which identifies product training as a revenue stream while also promoting brand loyalty and repeat business… Used the course content to re-develop training programs.Achieved a first time fix rate of 94% in 2014 by drilling down to the root cause of the issues and making sound recommendations in some challenging work environments. Started at Goring Kerr metal detectors in the assembly department as a bench technician and throughout my tenure worked up through the ranks to run the Canadian Parts and Service department, then as a sales engineer, regional manager, and as an assistant sales manager during a time when the division was providing around $12M in annual revenue.While running the Canadian service department, was responsible to maintain inventory of spare parts, generate shipping documents, repair and test customer’s defective equipment sent in for evaluation/repair… Performed product testing and generated product test reports. Developed quote templates for the complete product line. Hired and trained new employee’s and sales agents, managed the inside sales department. Acted as a liaison between sales and production to ensure orders were specified correctly and on schedule through various stages of production. Performed factory acceptance testing. Reviewed sales agents’ proposals to ensure that the systems were specified and priced correctly prior to the customer placing an order.
