Field Service Engineer
CurrentResponsible for the repair and calibration of Schenck Balancing Machines which are used to reduce vibration within most any form of rotating parts or equipment. Primarily focused on the aviation industry to balance internal engine components, with many other applications in the electric motor, pump rebuilding, and power generation sectors.Currently running the parts and service department for Ontario and Eastern Canada while also performing service calls in Alberta and Quebec as required. Servicing accounts such as OPG in Pickering, Rolls Royce-Siemens in Montreal, Pratt & Whitney in Lethbridge, and Vector Aerospace in PEI, as well as Bruce Nuclear Power near Kincardine, ON and NB Power near Saint-John, NB.Working with technology that was originally developed over 100 years ago with many generations of upgrades throughout the years requires detailed knowledge of many different types of electro-mechanical systems, vibration analysis and a good understanding of all the centrifugal force calculations needed to determine desired tolerance levels and optimum speed calculations, etc. Developed quote templates and order processing documents while also developing and implementing a factory authorized training program designed specifically for the Canadian market. Used the factory database to find new accounts and re-develop the Quebec market.Installed control system upgrades at accounts such as General Electric, Esso Oil Refinery, Howden Fans which required the ability to read schematics, review ladder diagrams and modify PLC programs, design and troubleshoot safety circuits, etc.
