Battalion Rear Detachment CommanderUs Army Nov 2015 - Feb 2017Arlington, Virginia, Us-Served as the Commander of a Provisional Combined Arms Battalion.-Responsible for the supervision, accountability, morale, discipline, professional development, health and welfare of over 20 Officer and Non Commissioned Officer Cadre members and up to 140 Soldiers while the Battalion is forward deployed to the Republic of Korea (RoK). -Identified leadership strengths and shortfalls within the cadre team, then created and executed a targeted Leader Development program that increased their leadership effectiveness and potential for career progression.-Filled the role of home-station mission commander, served as the Battalion Commander's direct representative by providing unity of command and ensuring that operations at Fort Hood, TX continued uninterrupted while the Battalion was forward deployed.-Responsible for implementing and overseeing a multi-million dollar Unit Maintained Equipment contract and for the maintenance and readiness of the Battalion's wheeled and tracked vehicle fleet to include: 29 x M1A2 SEP Main Battle Tanks, 36 x Bradley Family of Vehicles, and over 180 additional vehicles with associated equipment. -Executed ACP operations at three different Access Control Points, ensuring Soldiers were properly trained and equipped to provide access control and force protection to Fort Hood, TX.-Oversaw accountability of six companies' rear property books, valued in excess of $480,000,000.00-Conducted deployment and redeployment operations, accounting for all personnel and equipment departing and arriving at Fort Hood, TX.-Provided support to over 800 family members of deployed Soldiers by building and establishing relationships with the numerous resources on and around Fort Hood, TX.-Ensured the Family Readiness Group was functional, resourced and motivated. Maintained constant communication with the Senior Spouse, FRG leaders and Battalion Family Readiness Liaison. -
