About John Oldham
In 1978 my father started his own business.So from the age of 11, I chose to educate myself in various fields, that may help his business to become a success,During my School "Holidays" I learned the skills required:Engineering, fitting, welding, spraying, setting; and electrical (which was where I could make the biggest savings from Sub-Contractors' fees)I also paid for, and attended "Mechanical Production Competences" at Night-School.At 6th form College, I studied:Business Studies, Computer Science, & General Studies at 'A Level'Plus "Art" for my own interest.I then realised that due to the new H&S laws, (being imposed by the EU) my father's business could not survive.To alleviate this; I took the "Diploma in Export Management" and attained MIEx Grad qualification.To enable export of non-compliant machinery to non-EU countries.This qualification then led me to work for British Steel, then Johnson Radley.I then ran my own companies for 7 years.A divorce, with 2 children involved, then changed my circumstances.
