As an Executive Consultant, I am focusing on strategic initiatives to improve freight/passenger/commuter operations. Specific focus includes the integration of Operation Research Optimization software to analyze current operations and to develop new Service Design Plans that strive to optimize the utilization of equipment and manpower assignments. I also focus on network planning, capacity expansion and the design of new infrastructure relating to railway operations.I am currently consulting for the Boston MBTA for the development of a forecasted 2040 operating plans to determine the design for the replacement of drawbridges across the Charles River at North Station in the greater Boston area that support commuter rail train service.I am also been trained in the application of Oliver Wyman's MultiRail PAX computer software that is used to optimize passenger/commuter train schedules, train consists equipment cycles and crew assignments for rosters.I recently was the Key Note Speaker on the topic “Roles of Railways in National Transportation Systems” at the Costa Rica – Mexico Chamber of Commerce Forum on Infrastructure and Logistics in Central America in November 2014. I also serve as a Council Member for GLG based in New York City for GLG Clients interested in transportation and specifically railroad related topics.
