I joined the Commonwealth Bank of Australia at Homebush NSW branch on 10 January 1962 as a probationer. While working in several branches (mainly in the lending area) I gained accounting qualifications studying part-time at Bankstown Technical College. I was then transferred to the Commonwealth Development Bank as an Industrial Accountant and spent some 3.5 years in the Hobart Tas office. In December 1977 I was transferred to the Melbourne Vic office and in February 1979 I was positioned in the capital office lending group. In March 1984 I was moved to Australian European Finance Corporation Limited (the CBA's merchant bank) where I spent about seven years before returning to the corporate lending area within the CBA. In 1993 I was appointed a Retail Branch Inspector, which was folded into Risk Asset Review. My last appointment was to head up the Credit Support and Monitoring Department in Melbourne.In January, 2005 I began sessional teaching in Finance at Deakin University, Burwood Vic campus and have taught in the following units:MAF202 - Money and Capital MarketsMAF305 - Bank ManagementMAF306 - International Financial MarketsMAF311 - Superannuation PlanningMAF203 - Business Finance (Trimester 2, 2014)I am well versed in financial matters, and have above average skills in using the Microsoft Office computer programs.I finally retired from lecturing and tutoring at Deakin University in December 2018 and now am enjoying managing my SMSF and growing vegetables and fruit in my back yard garden.
