Shakespeare’s Globe is a unique organisation, an iconic theatre, educational centre and tourist destination. My time here began in lock-down and I had to hit the ground running, quickly establishing relationships with key stakeholders, teams and balancing the needs and priorities of the theatre reopening to the public. My range of projects has covered being lead creative on the brand refresh and guidelines update, integrated campaigns (web, social, print and OOH), 3-D projects, flagship print runs and the design and installation of large format signage. The pace of work was intense so scheduling and project management was essential, managing workflow, problem solving and mentoring junior designers.

The British Library is the national library and the largest in the world by number of items catalogued. It hosts busy public event and conference programs, holds four major exhibitions a year and runs extensive corporate, commercial and internal campaigns. The in-house design team was small and very hands-on and produced all design output for the Library. I was lead designer and would often have to breath life and form into abstract or dry subjects to create attention grabbing visuals backed by strong strategic thinking. My largest project was Harry Potter: a HIstory of Magic, the most successful exhibition the Library had ever held and with an extensive campaign translating across, outdoor advertising, web, social media, signage and print, through to merchandise, book covers and events. I have extensive experience designing and producing flagship brochures and reports including several Annual Report and Accounts and I created the template and style sheets for the quarterly What’s On guide. I was also central in implementing and extending a major re-brand for the Library from the initial guidelines into a wider scope to cover all Library items. My day-to-day work was ensuring the consistent application of the brand while keeping the regular print, online, social and signage items updated. I would also be a go-to person for mini campaigns and one-off design tasks and like to keep myself updated with the latest developments and trends for the role. I managed another designer and a freelancer and am well versed in successfully managing schedules, engaging with various stakeholders and presenting at a senior level.
