Chief Financial Officer
Current• Responsible for the accounting and administrative functions of multiple operating, holding and investment companies• Provide continual feedback and mentorship to managed staff and complete annual performance reviews and recommendation for salary increases and bonus payments• Manage all treasury activities; secure financing when required as well as utilizing various cash management strategies to ensure positive cash balances; transact in USD as required• Collaborate with internal and external resources to mitigate legal and insurance risk• Communicate with insurance company to ensure bond availability required for project bid• Review of various contracts (typically CCDC) as well as review, reconcile and advise on legal issues and settlements• Monthly completion and analysis of financial statements of 5 operating companies with periodic board presentation• Monthly review and analysis of project profitability to determine project deferral and recognition of profit through percentage of completion accounting• Prepare year end working papers for all related companies and liaise with auditors to complete external statements and review and approve corporate tax• Prepare annual budgets and maintain periodic forecast with commentary on variance• Accurate completion of all statutory remittances and work with external auditors where necessary• Tax preparation and submission for multiple partnerships and investments• Provide guidance on the application of inter-provincial taxes related to project finance• Various ad hoc reporting as required by various managing partners• Assist with IT requests and support where practical
