Hello, I'm John Parr (MSc), the founder of Emotional Assertiveness®. I have have been in the field of emotional intelligence and psychotherapy for over 40 years. My career began in the Royal Navy as an electronics engineer before transitioning into more people-focused roles in the 1970s. Over the years, I have managed a rehabilitation centre for substance abusers, worked as a probation officer, and served as an HR manager in a multinational company. Since 1988, I have run my own consultancy, specialising in management and training solutions for multinational organisations, with a strong focus on stress management, emotional intelligence, and workplace relationships.In the early 1990s, I identified a need for practical application of emotional intelligence and cantered my master's degree on the topic of applied emotional intelligence. This led to the creation of The Emotional Assertiveness Model, a unique approach to fostering healthy, respectful, and productive relationships in both personal and professional settings. Today, I certify professionals to present or coach using this model and continue to train individuals in leading emotionally balanced lives.I have also held several notable leadership positions in the field of Transactional Analysis, including Past Chair of the UK TA Association, Past President of the European Transactional Analysis Association, and Past Vice-President of the International TA Association.
