I am a problem solver with ten years of professional experience engineering web and non-web client applications, server applications, and normalized and performance-optimized SQL databases. My primary focus is on the Microsoft technology stack. If tasked with any problem, I will push very hard to find the best solution!I believe in writing fast, reliable, simple, maintainable code that adheres to standards and uses good design patterns, and in making databases that are normalized and performance optimized through table design, index selection, authoring stored procedures, and ensuring ORM executes efficiently.I enjoy learning new ways of writing good software, and both working with and learning from other IT and business professionals.

Software EngineerProtolink, Inc. Jul 2015 - PresentDallas/Fort Worth AreaI am employed full-time as a software engineer at ProtoLink, Inc. We are a group of hardware and software engineers who are experts at developing high performance, high availability Windows, embedded, and web applications for a variety of clients.Since starting at ProtoLink, my primary responsibility has been to develop and maintain the software for a heart monitor for our customer Edwards Lifesciences. I maintain WPF software running on a windows embedded OS for the panel of the heart monitor, which choreographs the monitoring of hemodynamic data by communicating with various medical devices on an internal network. I am also the primary developer and maintainer of the Field Software Update component of the panel, which updates the embedded medical devices connected it and securely reimages its disk. I have also had the opportunity to develop oil field telemetry configuration software for Haliburton. At Protolink, I primarily work with C#, .NET, WPF, MSSQL, and some embedded technologies. -

Software EngineerBeverage Metrics Dec 2013 - Jan 2015DallasBeverage Metrics is a startup company that uses RFID technology to measure how much liquid was poured from every bottle at a bar or hotel. We tracked the inventory's life cycle to control spillage, prevent lost revenue, and reduce human effort. I've worked with C# WPF on Entity Framework (.NET 4.5), built a web application on ASP.NET MVC, reduced the memory footprint of our engine and resolved memory leaks, developed Windows 8 apps, installed and administrated the company TIKI/CMS knowledge base, maintained the MSSQL database (creating and maintaining indexes, tables, views, UDFs, stored procedures, etc.), and I've had the chance to develop a touch screen application that is mission critical to our company from scratch.I think the people, the ideas and the product are excellent, and there is a real need for the solutions Beverage Metrics is providing. -
C# / Database Developer (Contract)Healthtech Solutions Group May 2013 - Dec 2013PlanoAt HealthTech Solutions Group (now known as Gaffey Health), I was tasked with developing our C# (WPF/.NET 4.0) application that automates the retrieval of HIPAA-compliant data on behalf of health care providers from at least a hundred health care provider portals, and then stores, consumes and collates that data into useful collections information. I was also tasked with performing development and enhancements for our web-based MVVM Silverlight application that presents the consumed data to our customers.I asked to join the Database Team and was promoted into the Database Team where I both continued to develop computer programs to automate our IT needs and had the chance to perform table design, index selection, query optimization, performance analysis, and database development of T-SQL procedures and integration with our ORM (Entity Framework 4).

Self-EmployedJsull Industries May 2012 - May 2013DallasI left Argo to seize the opportunity to start my own business because of fortunate timing. I was experimenting with the closed beta of a PC game, and engineered a way to host four instances of the client on a Micro ATX-sized computer with extremely anemic specs by intercepting Direct3D API calls that render graphics, and instead render a client that requires far fewer graphical resources. I set about writing code to control the AI and behavior of the player-controlled characters in the game, and I automated eighty accounts spread across twenty machines on release day.The game featured a built-in real money trading system, so I could sell in-game items and currency for money (The game in question is Diablo III by Blizzard North). I used C# as the basis for my automation tools and Autohotkey, AutoIT and other automation APIs to automate my clients. There are two methods of interfacing with the application state I used - memory scraping, and Direct3d-interception with pixel detection. For every four Micro ATX systems I bought, I connected them to a monitor and KVM. It was fun, but a lot of work! As a retrospective, I was successful, and my prediction that it would be lucrative was true; however, it was the most work I've ever done in my life. I was doing at least three or four different jobs that could have easily been full time work -- I had to ensure the automation didn't fail and develop systems to auto-correct them when they failed, maintain the physical machines, manage internet connections, change my automation tools and code, and update my tools and code to work with new patches, all while creating newer and better tools.

Certified Programmer IiArgo Data Resource Corporation Aug 2008 - May 2012RichardsonAt ARGO, I was responsible for developing banking software using a web application based on ASP.NET and a server tier. In addition to programming the HTML/CSS/JQuery/XSLT-based front end, ensuring that code is consistent, maintainble and performance-efficient, I was responsible for requesting changes to the database, including queries, indexes, table design and normalization, and analyzing the performance of the application and database.I moved on to produce the Software Requirements Specifications for the frontend of our OLAP/Data Warehousing application, and moved on to serve as the development lead on a large lending project.
