    By keeping on top of the invoices, I have ensured that we no longer have invoices that are overdue by more than 2/3 weeks, which is a drastic improvement from some invoices which used to be 3- 5 months old. The petty cash again which used to be chaotic, is now orderly and staff are now being told to use the petty cash vouchers rather post it notes. I am able to do Bank reconciliation on a weekly basis, this means that when the monthly statement comes in the post, it is already up to date. This is in turn allows me more time to chase individual members of staff for invoice signatories etc. The sage I learnt at college, has no become a great asset, because I use Sage everyday. I have now become a focal point and a named person for suppliers, who are chasing payment to contact regarding any late payment. Through organisation and careful planning I am now able to ensure that the company can pay invoices earlier now for business that may require payment urgently or are small business. This in turn allows the big payment run at the end of the month to go through smoothly. once I have updated the Sage, I am therefore able to run a remittance advice letter, can email to the respective suppliers.
