Helping to start a new school, Sparhawk Academy, I am teaching literature, religion, English grammar, Latin, and Spanish to boys in various grades between 3rd through 7th grade.The previous nine years, I taught mainly English, Latin, and Spanish in the 7th grade at The Heights School in Potomac, Maryland, though I also taught other subjects (science, religion, writing) to various grade levels (6th, 8th, high school) and mentored scores of boys over the years. Before then, I had also worked as a Spanish teacher at a small Catholic high school in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, where I taught two classes of freshmen and three classes of sophomores. I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.A., with a major in History and a minor in Spanish, specializing mainly in early modern European history. During that time, I also studied abroad in Granada, Spain for about eight months to become fluent in Spanish. The summer of 2018, I finished a M.A. in Liberal Arts at St. John's College in Annapolis.I have worked part-time at restaurants and for programs designed to help boys and young men to grow in virtue and develop as leaders.Specialties: Fluency in Spanish, some proficiency in Latin, basic knowledge of Ancient Greek
