Returning as a member of the structural design team, I was involved in more variations of complex projects. While I continued assisting in the design of apartment buildings, I was able to take more responsibility on multi-level parking garage projects. My time spent aiding in the design resulted in the production of an in-house calculator, which automated an otherwise two hour process. My primary tasks consisted of:-Designing proper interior and exterior bearing walls-Designing pier foundations for multi-level parking garages-Producing and updating in-house calculators-Appropriately sizing beams and columns for stacked and non-stacked unit framing-Evaluating point and line loads on foundations

Working as a member of the structural design team, I was involved in five different projects located in three different states. Each project consisted of unique three to four story apartment buildings. While each project was unique and required diligence, the workflow process and deliverables were fairly consistent. My primary tasks consisted of:-Evaluating roof snow loading conditions resulting from drifts and sliding snow-Designing proper interior and exterior bearing walls-Appropriately sizing beams and columns for stacked and non-stacked unit framing-Designing type III foundations using PTI Slab-Reviewing tendon stressing reports

Reads & Counts is an organization designed to help underprivileged children improve their testing scores. During my time at Reads & Counts I tutored over thirty students, typically two to five at a time. By working with these children my interpersonal skills were greatly strengthened, and my leadership skills were put to use. I found the work very rewarding.
