With a small team (10) of visionary industrial designers, business entrepreneur, and engineers pivoted an 18 B$ corporation from a metal binding assembly company to a high-tech industry leader; established three innovation centers (North America, Europe, and Asia) with a market entry target 5 to 15 years. I oversaw innovation projects and technically assessed Faurecia Ventures, as well as mentored in Seamless-IoT, the leading multi-industry, multi-channel, proof-of-concept, start-up accelerator. I also led a multi-company team in the development of Active Wellness™ biometric system functioning in-vehicle.In my role, I managed and defined a technical methodology of global teams at in-house innovation accelerators in Holland, MI, USA; Munich; Germany; Shanghai, China. As Director of Engineering, I spearheaded the team process conceptualization, refining, developing, validating, costing, business planning, and marketing innovation with a to market entry target of 3-5 years. I also leveraged external company partnerships and customer co-development funding.I established a team to support the co-development of innovations with one to five-year market entry. Innovated product in seating, which included composites, comfort, pneumatic, structures, and electronics.Key highlights included:• Opened dedicated space for innovation and Tech-Forum for product promotion at new Auburn Hills HQ.• Awarded and executed co-development contracts with OEM’s, which included: Composite Seat Back; GM-DOE-sponsored four-year, $4M co-development, which contributed 50% of energy savings, outperforming 14 other participating companies with improved comfort using TED’s.

In this role, I led the technical execution of division growth from $300M to $3B. I had a special focus on mechatronic and power seating. My total enterprise approach went from supplier through operations to customer.I was instrumental in starting the Power Seating, motors, actuators, NVH, EE, CAE, and FEA engineering core teams. I initiated, developed, and managed implemented 0.5M$ psychoacoustic end-of-line test on every power production line to ensure supplier, operations, and customer satisfaction. I also developed the CAE/FEA team and correlation methodologies such as the Natural frequency test and modal simulation (MAC value 0.95); Development methodology for plastic parts “Art to Part”. I also identified, developed, and implemented suppliers in low cost countries.Key highlights included:• Reduced power component cost by 66% through establishment of mechatronic capabilities of motors, EMC, and controls (HW and SW) while improved product performance and durability from 8K to 50K cycles.• One LLC supplier, SHB, grew quickly from $2M to $60M; and is now $500M. Introduced SHB and now are a directed supplier of GM and BMW.• Improved project timing and reduced cost by 25% by establishing engineering design center in Bangalore, India doing CAD and FEA/CAE – crash, mold flow, and tolerance analysis.
