Designing, developing and maintaining Capita’s Pensions Administration application, working in Progress (Openedge) 4GL. Developing code for pension related events such as retiring, transferring out and deferment. This includes editing the business logic, creating GUI screens, analysis, requirements gathering and testing.Developing change requests for a high profile SAAS client through interpreting business requirement documents and working with business analysts. Adhering to ISO20000 and Capita's own development standards.Coaching other areas of the business in their understanding of the application’s processes.Departmental secondment to support the build of a web front end for the main Pensions application, using Kendo UI.Working in BAU streams on an adhoc basis to execute live data fixes, maintaining calculations and developing bulk processes such as yearly benefit statements. Monitoring the incoming SAAS BAU Incidents to ensure that they do not fail their SLA deadlines.Improving core systems and propagating changes to other instances of the pensions application.Training new members of staff with the complexities of compiling code in various systems and versions of Progress. Helping them to understand bulk processes and how to develop and debug code. Introducing starters to Capita's work cycle for development, analysis, documentation and peer review.
