I am responsible for the implementation and management of specialty and retail pharmacies for Azina, a division of CPS. During the implementation process I help with the design of the pharmacy, vendor partnerships, develop workflow processes, staffing models, payer contracting and overseeing compliance of regulatory requirements. I work collaboratively with the Azina accreditation team to help the specialty pharmacy obtain URAC and ACHC accreditation, as well as work with the Azina payer and trade teams to assist the pharmacy gaining access to limited distribution drugs and specialty payer networks. The accreditation process includes setting up patient care hub services that include patient care management, copay assistance and prior authorizations for specialty prescriptions. In this role I also help pharmacies optimize 340B savings and work with the health system to maintain 340B compliance. My position also works with CPS Business Development team to create proposals and presentations for potential new clients.

I served in this position at Charleston Area Medical Center. I supervised three outpatient pharmacies and a specialty pharmacy within the cancer center. CAMC filled specialty medications for oral chemotherapy, neurology, urology, HIV and Hepatitis C for not just the organization’s patients, but for patients throughout West Virginia. I have worked with outside companies to contract with them to serve their patients specialty needs. I oversaw the hospital’s 340B program for the outpatient clinics and also all of the 340B contract pharmacy arrangements. I had responsibility for all third party contracts for the pharmacies as well as any credentialing and annual fraud, waste and abuse renewals. I served on the hospital’s 340B oversight committee, the CHF and COPD readmission committees along with the corporate compliance committee, where I help to ensure the outpatient clinics are following DNV’s medication management standards. During my time at CAMC, we were able to obtain a specialty accreditation through CPPA for the pharmacy.

Pharmacy Manager for 9 of the 10 years with the company. Responsible for all day to day operations of the pharmacy. Managed all levels of pharmacies for Walgreens, from opening a new store to managing a 24 hour location. During my time with Walgreens I became certified in MTM, immunizations, health testing and compounding. Also served as my districts CLIA coordinator and assisted my district supervisor with pharmacist hiring and new grad orientation.
