I was recruited by, and reported to the president/GM to handle purchasing for the Union, NJ location. I took on purchasing for the Texas and California branches a year later. I was a member of the company leadership team, led and trained a team of three, and managed a purchasing budget of $70M annually. Managed a purchasing budget of $70M and maintained/monitored inventory levels at all 3 locations. Vetted, monitored, and negotiated with 5 domestic and 3 international suppliers. Cut costs by identifying new suppliers, saving 20% on aluminum annually with a single supplier in Spain. Reduced transportation costs 15% annually by utilizing brokers. Grew revenue by recommending a new product line (aluminum composite panels), and recruiting a sales team for the Texas location. Improved decision-making by creating inventory and turn-around reports. Eliminated delays and confusion by streamlining the processes for coding materials and for transferring materials between warehouses. Managed an increase of 100 SKUs in under 3 years as the amount of painted materials grew from 200,000 pounds to 800,000 pounds per month.

I started with Alumet Supply, which was purchased by A.J. Oster in 2017, then acquired by Wieland in 2019. As the purchasing director, I developed and negotiated contracts with domestic and international vendors, and managed a team of 4 who oversaw purchasing, receiving, importing, and outside processing of incoming materials. I reported to the owners of Alumet, then to the directors of purchasing at A.J. Oster and Wieland. Managed an annual purchasing budget of $100M+ for 4 locations (NJ, GA, TX, and CA), and monitored inventory levels at all warehouses. Maintained relationships and negotiated contracts with 15+ suppliers in 6 countries. Cut costs by identifying new suppliers and saving +/- 10% on a variety of products. Streamlined the material transfer process and saved time by reducing the number of steps required to approve and complete transfers. Developed 3PL partnerships for operations that could not be performed in-house. Ensured processes and people were in place to handle a 50% increase in SKUs during tenure. Worked directly with customers as needed.

I found and vetted vendors, and negotiated contracts for aluminum coil and extrusions from both domestic and international sources. I reported to the general manager, supervised two direct reports, and oversaw all warehouse operations, including receiving, order processing, and shipping. Set up a 20,000 square foot warehouse and office location in New Jersey, and managed purchasing of all material for NJ and aluminum extrusions for 3 locations in IL, CA and NJ. Managed a purchasing budget of $60M annually. Developed relationships and monitored quality stats for 7 key vendors, 5 domestic and 2 in China. Coordinated importation via ocean, including custom clearances and trucking to warehouses. Kept costs in check by utilizing part-time drivers for deliveries. Had minimal contact with some customers.
