I am a Chartered Building Services Engineer (CEng MCIBSE) with over 35 years' experience in the construction industry.I am a Director of Phillips Buckell Ltd, a Building services consultancy that offers engineering excellence and quality MEP designs, investigations, surveys, and reports across an array of sectors.I have been an advocate for alternative and renewable energy technology since the late 1980’s and this interest evolved into becoming a registered CIBSE Low Carbon Consultants and Low Energy Assessor.Over the course of my career I have designed and managed construction projects in many sectors including;• Healthcare• Education• High-end residential• Large scale residential • Leisure• Laboratories and clean rooms • Retail • Commercial offices• Government and civic buildings• Dealing rooms• Data centres• Grade I/II listed buildingsI have been Lead Engineer for various innovative and ground breaking designs including;• First installation of ammonia chillers within a UK commercial office building. 6MW capacity • First successful integration of embedded cooling pipework system within a post tension concrete slab to provide static cooling • First open aquifer heating and cooling system with unique above ground recirculation. In recent years much of my work has been in the Healthcare sector and I am a Fellow of IHEEM.
