Staff Engineer, R&D
Progressed through various engineering roles during tenure. Responsible for design and build out of dedicated product development environment. An independent, physically separate network and compute resources dedicated to product development and product releases.- Designed and expanded capacity of resources providing a self-service infrastructure for ~50 groups in multiple divisions. Scope included Cisco network, LAN, WAN, WLAN, HPE and Dell SANs, VMware, and Palo Alto (PAN).- Created wireless network solution specifically to reduce automated test cycles from 2 weeks to one day. This significantly improved both throughput of software changes and quality by enabling continuous test cycles for embedded devices. Solution included a matrix of 40+ SSIDs to cover all product supported Wi-Fi connectivity. Cisco ISE and Active Directory used for EAP protocols.- Designed and deployed hybrid cloud networks spanning corporate, R&D, Azure, and AWS environments.- Delivered $2M in cost savings compared to “lift and shift” cloud solutions. - Led team for operations and network including cloud networking, ensuring virtualization and network uptime and performance.- Expanded platform capabilities with HPE Green Lake, reducing Synergy configuration time from 3 days to 4 hours using Terraform.- DevOps evangelist, enhancing processes for engineering, release, and product support teams.- Ensured automated product deployments and network infrastructure provided max uptime.- Managed campus network across multiple buildings, supporting 11K+ hosts with extensive test environments required for product validation of supported specifications.
