Electrical hardware designer and embedded programmer for intelligent transformer monitors.

Trained in Visual Project Management.Supervisor for the electrical department and the electronics lab.Designed, tested and built the analog 109 Transformer Monitor; Qualitrol's first mid-sized electronic monitor for oil-filled transformers.Designed the analog circuitry and firmware for the 118; Qualitrol's first processor based electronic product. Using a software development process that I developed for the company the 118 has had zero firmware bugs for the life of the product (12 years). Designed, tested and built the SENTRY, the first all analog, configurable, monitoring system for power transformers. The product went from concept to production in eleven months. Project engineer and firmware applications engineer for the 509IED Intelligent Electronic Transformer Monitor. Responsibilities included: translated the customer comments into a technical specification and manuals, designed the software interface Windows screens and all the application firmware, assisted with the troubleshooting, trained the sales team and continuing to support the customers. This product went to production in under twelve months. The 509IED has been the number one selling mid-sized transformer monitor in the world the past six years and the number one selling electronic product for Qualitrol. Created the Qualitrol process for developing firmware and software for all electronic products. Trained in gathering VOC (voice of customer) and have written several of the commercial specifications for the electronic products developed at Qualitrol.Technical Writing - have written the manuals for the 109, 110, 509IED, 509ITM product lines.Assisted with setting up manufacturing cells, participated in manufacturing Kaizens and support production.Managed external contract houses and low cost region support (India, China and Malaysia).Support customers for all the electronic products.Assist with beta site installations.

Developed software for a wire-tap device; project canceled before reaching production.

Designed the electronics for the Burroughs Money Order Dispenser using the Intel 8031.Designed and tested a RS232 interface board for the Burroughs Dispenser.Supervised and interfaced with a Taiwan Modem Company in the development of modem boards used as option cards in the intelligent check dispensing systems.Designed and debugged communication utilities in 8031 assembler with the capability to up-load file information to a PC via a modem.Designed a PL/M based X-Modem utility to talk to a PC.
