Independently learned Python techniques to explore multiple avenues of data sonification to attain a deeper understanding of long-term climate change from shifts in the Earth’s orbit. Acquired the Processing tools necessary to create an orbital simulation of the Earth-Sun system to demonstrate the meaning of changing eccentricity, obliquity, and precession.

Served as a Counselor and leader, for eight boys for four weeks who slept, ate, and played together. Mentored Assistant Counselor to help prepare him for future leadership at camp. One of four Assistant Counselors promoted to Counselor the year after serving as Assistant Counselor. Tracked campers’ character and leadership progress by filling out cumulative record forms. Participated in the planning and implementation of Village and all-camp programming. Reinforced the eight Becket Mottos and core values – caring, respect, responsibility, honesty, and service.

Set a good example for campers through leadership, personal behavior, and adherence to camp policies. Fostered a respect for individual differences among campers from different backgrounds. One of 36 individuals hired to serve as an Assistant Counselor. Initial applicant pool prior to training is consistently many hundreds of individuals.

Developed leadership skills through service-oriented experience and intensive training sessions on the Cheyenne River Reservation in South Dakota. Dedicated 46 hours to projects involving physical labor and creating programs for Lakota Sioux children. Program had a 12% acceptance rate. Second summer of leadership training through Camp Becket in preparation for counselor role.
