I have been working in the telecommunication sector since 1989 and mainly in the area of fibre optic cable installation, fusion splicing and testing as a field technician. I have experience with many types of core-alignment fusion splicers, test equipment (OTDR, Optical Loss Tests, Visible Red Light source), cable installation indoor and outdoors with the air blowing method. My field of work varies from:• Data Centres, • University campuses, • Airports (single mode or multi mode optical links from ODF to ODF) to • national backbone FO networks (construction of optical joints; branching or pass-through) for Network and Internet service providers (Vodafone, WIND, OTE, Hellas On Line, Hellenic Railways), • Power companies (Hellenic Public Power company, Natural Gas company), • wind farms. Also experience working on live traffic cables (cable and tube breakout) to add a branch. .I enjoy my work as a telecom technician and take pride in it. Working in a team is a pleasure for me and also do not mind working on my own. Often I am given the role of the leader of a group of field technicians and I have also trained new technicians on-site. I am flexible and quality work is first priority for me. All these years in the telecom sector has taught me to always plan ahead and make sure all the safety rules are followed.
