About John Plenge
At my core, I’m a builder - I like to build up products, processes or people/teams. In previous leadership roles, I have enjoyed being in roles where I’m actively making things better in ways that matter to customers. I am particularly excited about the new opportunities contemporary CAD / CAM software and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) present – new ways to make things faster, better and more connected. In my most recent role, I applied PMP and Agile practices in leading the development, deployment and management of a software platform that established a digital thread connecting product models, business processes and functional teams to support economic value analytics. These analytics enabled our product line group to make faster and more confident commercial and investment decisions. Outside of work, my favorite pastime is biking with my family. I'm also looking for new avenues to teach and encourage STEM students. Today I’m volunteering at the Virginia Western Community College Fab Lab. Albeit, my secret dream job though is being a roadie for my kid’s band. Experienced operational leader with a demonstrated history in diverse functional leadership roles in a variety of industrial manufacturing sectors. Skilled in Product Management, Project Management, Strategic Planning, Product Marketing, Cross-functional Team Leadership, Manufacturing Operations, and Leadership. Graduate from GE’s Manufacturing Management Leadership Program, and Management Develop Course. Mechanical Engineering degree (honors) from North Carolina State University.
