Chartered Engineer, MScEng, MIET, MIEEEI'm a results-focused engineering R&D leader, expert at establishing a product and technology vision and driving it through to a successful conclusion.My electronic engineering academic background coupled with over 25 years' experience in increasingly senior design and management roles has enabled me to successfully lead systems engineering, electronic & RF hardware, FPGA/firmware, software and mechanical development functions, as well as some manufacturing operations activities. I have significant experience building and managing engineering teams.I recently helped establish a new start-up that had been founded to commercialise quantum photonic technology from Cambridge University, building and managing the technical teams and defining and leading many multidisciplinary projects. In my prior engineering director role I was responsible for all engineering R&D activities in a small technology company, developing a next-generation ultra-wideband RF over optical fibre distributed antenna system. Prior to that I managed a large engineering group within a multi-national corporation, tasked with developing a range of multi-mode 3G & 4G small cell products. I've also made a significant contribution in two previous technology start-ups, using my broad technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills and sound engineering judgement to successfully lead the development of innovative new products on challenging time-scales.
