In support of Duke Energy’s 2050 “zero carbon” goal the team is building a portfolio of digital products that are accelerating the roll-out of Solar, Battery, DERs, Demand Response, and Electric Vehicles technologies. This requires looking at the net zero problem from end - to -end and developing products that forecast, optimize, create insights, and deliver an actionable plan. However, the real journey is using data science to cleaning data so that tools can give the most accurate and best insights. The team leverages technologies like AI, ML, deep learning, and IoT to push the company in new, innovative directions. The team also supports the 7.7 million customer meters across the six states we serve. Together with data, sensors, edge technologies we are building software for the next decade.

Working on projects that push the company in new and innovative ways like: Advanced Distribution Planning, Solar, Battery, Electric Vehicles, LiDAR, IoT, Smart Home/ Smart Energy, Image Analytics, Machine Learning, and AI. I also have ownership of critical infrastructure, known as the Information Architecture Solutions (IAS). This team centralizes the enterprises data for all lines of business at Duke. The team manages the tools and infrastructure to facilitate and govern the process, like: Hadoop, Informatica, Microsoft SQL Server, PowerBI, etc.
