John joined the Cerberus Operations team in 2006 with a focus on financial services companies domestically and abroad. He has held various positions within the firm and currently serves as the head of Europe and Australia for the Cerberus Operations and Advisory Company and leads the unsecured desk. Previously John was the Chief Executive Officer of Equable Ascent Financial LLC (formerly Hilco Receivables LLC), a Cerberus portfolio company focused on purchasing consumer and commercial non-performing loans. Before joining Cerberus, John served in a variety of consumer finance companies and banks primarily in the roles of Chief Risk Officer and Head of Marketing Analytics. He has substantial global experience issuing credit in the sub-prime, micro loan, middle market, and prime segments in addition non-performing assets. John has started and restructured banks in diverse geographies such as South America and Africa along with significant M&A and co-brand experience from deals ranging over five different continents. Other roles in consumer finance include Senior Vice President at Kessler Financial Services Investment Banking Group and various roles at Universal Savings Bank, MBNA America, and Providian Financial. John resigned his commission as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy. He has a degree in economics with a naval science minor from Miami University.
