Surveillance Systems Lead on behalf of the Client, EDF on the proposed £16bn Hinkley Point C New Nuclear Build 3.2GW Power Station, Somerset. Management and review of quality surveillance information captured during the construction of the early structural and civil engineering works. Development of information management and recording procedures, content guidelines and monitoring of the systems once in progress. Working within the Nuclear Island and Main Civils Construction Team.

Project Managing for specialist HV cable installation and jointing firm H&Askham. St John's Wood Substation 275kV to 400kV capacity upgrade, Central London. Project development, planning and implementation to decommission existing oil filled 275kV Cables and to install and HV joint several new 400kV cable circuits including support steelwork installation adjacent to live equipment and cables. Management of all aspects reporting to Client ABB on all contractual issues and liaising with National Grid on safety and consenting matters.

Project Engineer (Civils) on the development of a £14m Civils work package (within a proposed £400m Project) to install workforce welfare facilities, refurbish and upgrade drainage and oil storage containment systems to meet modern environmental standards with the ultimate goal of acquiring a new operating permit. Responsible for scoping works and specification production for a variety of elements including the main Civil Engineering package, oil tank mechanical and refurbishment works and all necessary surveys, controlling these on site and integrating the works into adjacent packages to meet the overall project objective.

Section Manager (Power Train) on behalf of the Client on a £1bn, 2000MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Power Station near Pembroke for Civils, Structural Steel and Platforms and Buildings. Responsible for monitoring, reporting and contemporaneous recording of construction activity with respect to Health, Safety and Environmental, quality and to ensure the EPC Contractor, Alstom met the Purchasers Specification. Day to day liaison with the EPC Contractor and their Subcontractors on site for witness and defect inspections of ongoing and completed works. Finalisation of Engineering issues affecting operation, maintenance and durability.

Construction Manager for the Client on the £160m Flue Gas Desulphurisation project. 800 tonnes of large duct, dampers, booster fans and RC absorbers were retrofitted to the operational 1500MW Coal fired power Station along with an extensive seawater handling facility and treatment plant. Responsible for coordinating the EPC contractors outage activities with the operational power station. Compilation and issue of Purchasers communications and instructions. Management of engineering and restoration works issues in separate contracts. Reviewing RAMS. Reporting to Site Construction Manager for 5 Discipline Engineers.

275KV Crossing & GRP Pipes, Aberthaw Power Stn, BarryProject Manager on a £4m subcontract with AMEC. Six 2.5m dia, 22m long pipejacks were installed 12m deep beneath 275KV cables for the containment of 1800 and 1600mm dia GRP seawater transfer pipes. Two 12m deep cofferdams were installed as thrust and reception pits followed by two further pits for the laying of 450m of GRP supply and effluent pipe. A second phase included the recovery of previously installed 1.8m dia floated pipes. Appointed Person (120t mobile), temp wks coordination, setting out, work and isolation permits, programming, cost vs. production: records and monitoring, RAMS. Liaison with AMEC and RWE Projects and Power Station staff. QA compilation. Interim and Final Account preparation and settlement.
