The funds are offered primarily through consultants and brokers and participants in Group RRSP’s, DPSP’s and Defined Contribution Pension Plans comprise the bulk of the company’s business. Recruited as an equity partner to manage the business of the new organization and maximize the unique opportunity and competitive advantage presented by Open Access. Reporting to the President and the Board of Directors was directly accountable for sales, business development, marketing, administration, information systems, customer service and finance.Accomplishments• Increased assets from approximately $10 million to $45 million• Re-organized customer service and administration to accommodate the higher volumes and more complex transactions associated with the Open Access product• Negotiated an agreement for a new computerized pension system which enabled the company to more effectively administer its Open Access business• Through an extensive series of focus groups and customer information surveys, refined and modified the product and its sales distribution system and business development• Identified opportunities for savings in external audit fees and trustee administration which resulted in cost reductions of 35% and 66% respectively.
