I am currently a student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Prior to this, I was a high school student at Oliver Ames High School in Easton, MA. During my years in high school, I had various jobs that I would work at over the summer, due to me not having time to do it in the year because of school and athletics. I worked at Langwater Farm my freshman year. It was hard work, but rewarding work. I could see the progress that I made throughout the shift. Sophomore year I worked at Buddy's Union Villa which is also in Easton. Then Covid-19 unfortunately started to get bad in the beginning of my junior year and as a result could not find any work. My senior year I had two jobs, one working at the local pool store, The Pool Place, and Bill's House of Pizza. Again, these are both local places of work in Easton as well. These jobs were for the most part high paced and stressful environments at times. A component that I learned working in my high school years is how to deal with customers. Sometimes they would be upset and I would have to deal with their issues amicably. They taught me that I need to be quick on my feet and have to be ready to make decisions in split seconds. They were really preparing me for my future and the kinds of work environments that I will be working in in the near future.
