Having gained experience developing Ab Initio software, and architecting complex data solutions, I now have the opportunity to create and deliver solutions across verticals. My main focus areas have been in real-time data processing, data lakes, and metadata-driven development, i.e. less coding, and better results for clients.I work with the Americas consulting team on real-time distributed complex event processing systems in high TPS and low latency environments. These are challenging and rewarding projects that bring together people from across the organization.Previously, I led the team working on the development and implementation of metadata-driven consulting solutions, including in the areas of semantic data analysis, data quality, and machine learning - delivering on the initiative to provide more productivity with data-driven analysis.

I moved into consulting because I really liked the challenges brought to us by our national and global scale clients. Working closely with finance industry clients I architected data solutions on Hadoop and cloud environments. I managed the first successful migration of a US bank data processing system to AWS and Snowflake. On the success of this project, I developed a cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) migration practice and obtained patents for data processing and testing. This practice was instrumental in scaling cloud migration projects with faster and more predictable implementations. While helping to grow the consulting organization, I get to work closely with the International consulting teams on complex and challenging engagements. Leaning on my engineering background, I introduced an agile consulting methodology enhancing client partnerships.

At Ab Initio, leveraged my expertise in systems internals, I developed a core set of servicesfor a Windows version of the parallel distributed Co>Operating System. I became an expertin distributed programming and resolving issues that only appear at scale.

Had the opportunity to work with Evan Schulman, who was influential in the development of electronic trading. Evan designed a Sales Certificate, as a new financial instrument. These certificates enable businesses to raise capital by securitizing future revenues. I developed the modeling system so that we could engage industry leaders and prove the concept.

Teamed up with a former colleague from Thinking Investments to develop analytics solutions for financial firms. We created a framework to quickly deploy Matlab models as web services. I developed a solution for one of the larger mutual fund companies to analyze customer behavior. Being able to predict customer redemptions enabled portfolio managers to make better investment decisions.

Founded Guardian Software to develop an internet monitoring product. I hired a small contingent staff to augment development, QA, and support. While juggling roles, I created all major software components, built online marketing campaigns, created the eCommerce site, developed strategic partnerships, and managed the affiliate network. We achieved very favorable reviews, including in the Washington Post. We were profitable in the first year and later completed a successful private sale.

Brought in by the CEO of this early-stage Goldman Sachs funded startup to productize their financial research activities. I created a working design to quickly integrate quant models into the robo-advisor system. We developed rapid prototypes and generated significant customer interest. However, the financial upheaval around that time killed prospective sales. It was an extraordinary adventure with a brilliant and inspiring team.

I joined Celarix early in the startup phase. We raised $72M in two funding rounds. I quickly built a stellar and innovative development team (growing to 60 engineers, and 3 managers), replacing the services of a consulting agency, saving over $400K per month. I was proud to build an open culture and practiced agile development even before it was popularized. Designed a multi-model logistics pipeline management system and a container auction platform. I managed a $10M engineering budget delivering a set of self-hosted SaaS solutions to major US retailers. The company was acquired by Global Exchange Services.

Lexington, Massachusetts, Us

I developed an expertise in Windows systems internals and was able to translate these skills to create the industry's first web and java testing products. As a result of this success, I was promoted to engineering manager and formed an amazing new product development team. We created a QAOps solution for testing labs that managed pipelines of functional and load tests and became the basis for all new enterprise sales.
