I have significant experience supporting life insurance company operations – including policy development and compliance, sales and services on the internet, litigation support, claims and complaints, distribution and associated regulatory processes, including policy form design and filing and responding to recurring regulatory issues. I have for a number of years served as the Primary Business Operations counsel to major life insurers and their insurer and operational subsidiaries.The bulk of my career has been spent in the insurance industry as a practitioner and manager of people and projects. My extensive hands-on experience includes fixed and variable life insurance and annuity product development, compliance, marketing and separate accounts, including for an index-linked annuity. I am very experienced in abandoned property matters and working with domestic and foreign Third Party Administrators (licensing, contracting and compliance), and managed MetLife's NAIC Abandoned Property Settlement Agreement compliance for a number of matters including, by TPAs that have contracted with MetLife (approximately 60 for closed blocks and active blocks of group and individual life insurance and annuity businesses).
