As Communications Director at the Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Research in Portland, Oregon, I'm responsible for leading the department that manages aspects of the dissemination and translation of the scientific work. This includes internal and external communications, media relations, manuscript and proposal development, data visualization, and library services. I also serve on the research center's leadership team, providing strategic direction for the administrative management of the organization. I have also led its DEI initiatives, working across departments to ensure equity principles are applied to our research and within our workforce.The Center for Health Research (CHR) is a $50 million research enterprise with scientists whose specialties range from genetics and genomics to clinical trials to health economics to epidemiology and vaccine safety and effectiveness.I lead the communications department to develop and drive a workplan aligned with the organization's business and strategic goals. I develop and execute CHR's comprehensive communications plan to build and enhance CHR's reputation locally and nationally. I collaborate with research, regional, and national KP marketing and communications departments in order to ensure brand adherence, consistent messaging, and strategic development of campaigns, plans and tactics.

As Director of Marketing and Communications for the National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) - the world's leading patient advocacy organization serving the more than 8 million Americans living with psoriatic disease - I oversee the development and implementation of all elements of the organization's brand management, communication, digital, editorial, marketing and public relations strategies. I coach, lead and inspire an in-house team of digital and web strategists, editors, graphic designers, marketers, public relations practitioners and writers to execute the communications and marketing strategies of the organization and to realize the mission and strategic plan of the NPF.

As program director, I led all of the components of the organization focused on delivering on our mission. I served as a member of the senior leadership team, I provided strategic and operational counsel to our executive director and board to execute the organization's mission: providing education and awareness programs related to organ, eye and tissue donation conducted in Oregon and southwest Washington. I managed all of the organization's communications and marketing efforts, including public relations, communications, and social media initiatives; statewide public education; student, multicultural, and community outreach; living kidney donation initiatives; volunteer engagement; special events; and all other general awareness campaigns.

As V.P. of Communications & Community Relations, I oversaw several integral components of Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic - its communications, volunteer services, and corporate partnerships.

As manager of public affairs, I led all aspects of community engagement and education as well as communications and marketing for the organization.

Worked as the primary television traffic anchor for the NBC affiliate in Philadelphia, under contract with NAVTEQ (aka Traffic.com/Radiate Media/WIS). I wrote, produced and reported live several dozen times daily for a period of nearly six years. In less than a year on the job, I was awarded Philadelphia Magazine's "Best in Philly" in my field.

Worked with the team of writers, editors, producers, anchors and reporters to produce Fox 29's Good Day Philadelphia while completing my undergraduate degree in communication.
