I manage a team of extremely talented developers whose mission is the transformation of legacy systems with architectures or technologies that prevent the achievement of business goals. Our team is primarily concerned with modernization of legacy systems to SOA via the Java EE platform but we do use other technologies such as BPM. We also convert legacy data stores to modern, primarily relational, data stores. I also serve as solution architect for our various projects in this space.

We also convert legacy data stores to modern, primarily relational, data stores. I also serve as solution architect for our various projects in this space.

I was the one of two developers responsible for the enhancing the existing NEON HTTP server production known as the Shadow Web Server to add support for Java/Java EE and function as a J2EE application server. When the other developer moved upward in the organization to an executive position I completed this project alone. Later, I was responsible for the coding of the Java support for the Neon EAI product iWave. This was a cross platform product supported in the Windows, UNIX, and Linux environments. It was developed and sold in a limited fashion but the entire NEON EAI initiative was later discontinued when the company decided to focus solely on its core Shadow product line.

I developed and/or enhanced commercial mainframe software products in the area of performance management with a specific focus on monitoring and reporting on the performance of software utilizing any one of several database systems but primarily DB2. I also developed and/or enhanced commercial mainframe software products in the Y2K space in the area of Y2K testing (specifically the capability to put "breakpoints" in software programs, manipulate the data as necessary, and then resume) and Y2K date manipulation (specifically the capability to have the system return a different date than current to allow software to be tested with dates beyond Y2K to ensure proper function).

I was responsible for the installation and configuration of the IBM mainframe operating system at Aflac as well as one of the teams of DBA and systems programmers that installed and implemented the DB2 relational database at Aflac. I was also responsible for mainframe capacity planning and I/O subsystem performance and configuration.

I was responsbile for installation and support of the MVS and VM systems.
