I am a senior level electrical engineer, specializing in automation equipment and industrial control system design, and electronic design. I specialize in applications requiring precision sensor measurement and control, custom embedded design, motion control, and complex communications interaction with intelligent peripherals and systems. I am skilled at electrical control system design and documentation, PLC and machine interface (HMI) programming, PC-Based SCADA programming, and printed circuit (PCB) design and embedded programming, and have many years of hands-on expertise in solving challenging design issues in scores of database-driven automation, control and test applications. Beyond the basic designing/coding/prototyping activities, what energizes me most is being out in the field, immersed in manufacturing operations, troubleshooting tough technical issues, optimizing system end performances in ways that are only possible if one is there observing closely what is going on in real time.I have been an independent engineering consultant for most of the past 20 years. During that time I put together my own electronics/controls development lab, through which a host of additional design and testing capabilities are made available to my clients and associates. I am a recognized AutomationDirect Systems Integrator.In 2016 I re-located the the Shenandoah Valley area of Virginia and currently am working as an independent consulting and design engineer.
