Professor John Read (1st Class honours degree in Materials Engineering, Ph.D in Civil Engineering, Professor in Pavement Materials at the University of Nottingham) has worked in the Bitumen and Asphalt Industry for more than 20 years, initially for a consultant testing house, then for an Asphalt Supplier and more recently for 2 Bitumen companies. He is currently the General Manager Technical Delivery for Shell Specialities (Biutmen and Sulphur) where his principle accountabilities are:Leading a team of 100+ technical specialists in the delivery of R&D and techncial service to both the bitumen and sulphur industries.Providing a central expertise and best practice input for technical sales and product management including industry representation and government liaisonMaintaining a commercially viable range of products to meet Global business requirements.
