I founded Smith Associates in 2002, to focus on communications to support change and growth in the professional and business services sectors. This remains the business through which I conduct my consulting and writing assignments.

Prior to forming Smith Associates John spent 15 years leading Landmark Communications Limited. He developed Landmark into a successful corporate PR business, which was acquired by the listed Chime Group in 1999 for its ability in top level relationships with major financial and telecoms clients. The team John had built became a much larger business in Chime. He remained with Chime as chairman of Landmark for three years.
