Serve as advance/lead staff person for Speaker’s meetings and travel for campaigning, fund-raising, and working with key business and political leaders around the State on legislative and policy issues. Research subject matter and purpose of each meeting or trip and prepare written briefings to ensure the Speaker is prepared for the meeting. Responsible for ensuring all arrangements are in place for Speaker appearances. Assist Speaker in carrying out legislative goals by facilitating communication between the Speaker and the 150 members of the Texas House of Representatives. Interact regularly with members of the House and their staffs to carry out Speaker’s agenda.

Worked closely with TAB governmental relations staff to track and monitor legislative issues affecting business interests in Texas. Researched issues and assisted in writing position papers. Interacted with legislative staff and communicated TAB positions on issues important to TAB members. Staffed events for legislators, their staff and TAB members.
