I've always enjoyed the satisfaction I get from solving problems, and working in IT has always provided me with plenty of problems to solve. Even when everything is running smoothly - knock on wood - there is never a shortage of opportunities to improve, test, document, and anticipate what's next. I started my career in contact center technology, working at Fidelity Investments with individual business lines (Retirement, Sales, etc) to write routing rules so that their callers could reach the right representative as quickly as possible with the most relevant information provided to the agent. I found that very satisfying, the process and result of finding the straightest line possible that benefits both sides of the experience. Mutually beneficial efficiency has been a guiding principle in my career even as I moved on into working with different technologies, for different companies, and into people management. Since I moved on from that first role, I've managed teams of network engineers, of telecom/call center engineers, and of a/v engineers. I've led the implementations of call centers from RFP to finished product, of SD WAN and wireless network rebuilds, and of countless other projects as technologies ages and then matures or evolves. In each of these roles and experiences, I'm looking to find solutions that are efficient, benefit both sides of the experience (whomever or whatever they may be), and have a favorable cost to benefit ratio.
