I am an engineer and algorithm developer with seven years of professional experience. My passion for solving open-ended and meaningful problems has allowed me to explore software development, cyber security, data analysis, renewable energy, and algorithm development. I'm the Lead Cybersecurity Engineer at Blind Consent, a stealth mode cybersecurity start up with a focus on application user data privacy. By using a mix of deep packet inspection and novel ML techniques, my goal is to put you back in control of your personal data. Outside of working hours I give back to the community by coaching rowers at the University of Calgary and the Calgary Rowing Club, and by volunteering with senior citizens in the Homecare & Community Program.I am a graduate of the Engineering Physics program from Queen’s University, which combined elements of electrical engineering with an emphasis on the underlying principles that govern physical systems. My undergraduate thesis focused on early prostate cancer detection using ultrasounds scans and neural networks. My master’s degree was in nanoscale biophysics from McGill University and explored biases in Fourier-space correlation functions for sub-cellular applications. Due to my passion for learning and skill set development, I have pursued a wide range of professional experiences including power system engineering, computational chemistry, and software engineering, among many others. Each position posed its own set of unique challenges which forced me to develop my critical thinking, technical analysis tools, and soft skills.On the weekends you'll find me on the ice with my hockey team, training for the next Calgary marathon, and spending time with my wife and family.
