I now have 20 plus years of experience in the Hotel and Restaurant industry; ranging from emptying ashtrays in 5 star hotels (my first job) to Operation Manager for 2 of the biggest names in the industry: Walt Disney World and Hard Rock Cafe Int.Throughout my career I have experienced all jobs including Chef, Server, Busser, Dishwasher, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Bartender, Runner, Host, Inventories, Sales, Customer service, Receptionist, Purchasing, Health and Safety, Food Preparation, Retail Assistant, and Management. I pride myself in being able to 'walk the walk' when it comes to managing a team. Specialties: If I do have a specialty, it would have to be guest and staff relations. I am close to those I work with and those that work for me. A hands on approach and a genuine interest in my colleagues and guests has earned me the title of Leader and Host more so than Manager. I prefer to be where the rubber meets the road so to speak as that is where the most effective influence can be achieved.In the last year I have taken a sabbatical from the Hotel/Restaurant industry in order to re-assess my priorities. The physical aspects of the job, as well as my hands-on approach, has taken its toll physically and I am now searching for new horizons. I would like to apply my guest service knowledge and experience in other industries. Retail, consultancy, recruitment are some of the fields that I would like to explore.
