Power generation industry professional with a focus on biomass power and heat projects.A significant element of my career history to date involves the development of power generation projects from an early stage. Examples of such work include production of feasibility studies, concept designs, FEED studies, technical support for consent applications, technical due diligence reporting and engineering advice on plant technology selection. An important aspect of project development work of this nature is the development of EPC contractual schedules; I have strong experience in this area and have produced/negotiated many detailed technical specifications for plants of this type.I have extensive experience in the construction and commissioning of new build biomass power plants, in the capacity of on-site managerial roles. I have a particular interest in this area and have provided Owner's Engineer services to clients throughout my time at Fichtner Consulting Engineers.Prior to my work as an engineering consultant I worked in an operations and maintenance engineering role at a large coal fired power plant. This work provided me with a good knowledge of asset management, power plant operations and management of Health & Safety on site. This plant also was a fore-runner in the milling and combustion of biomass fuels (co-firing); my involvement of which lead me to pursue a future career in the wider bioenergy sector.
