Providing financial expertise and discipline as well as knowledge of mortgage product, operational process and risk management to enable Amicus to grow beyond the capacity, operational and funding constraints faced by businesses starting out on their journey. The business has subsequently grown more than twenty-fold. Some of the highlights of which I am especially proud:- Installing process, policy and team capable of passing investor due diligence in the early years- Finance lead in the negotiation and structuring of the company's first funding line in 2012- Leading the project to attain FCA authorisation in 2014- Paricipating in the launch of the company's first and subsequent debt funds from 2014- Finance lead in the conception, structuring and launch of the UK's first securitisation wholly collateralised by short-term bridging loans in 2015.

Mortgages plc was an award-winning provider of non-conforming mortgages and was acquired by Merrill Lynch at the end of 2014. My brief was to build a Finance function capable of supporting aggressive growth plans as well as integrating the business into the bank's policies and procedures. The business was active in the securitisation markets and by the time it closed its door to new origination in 2008 had quadrupled in size.Post credit-crunch I continued to provide financial oversight to the Mortgages plc portfolio as well as the bank's other UK mortgage interests comprising in excess of £7bn of mortgage assets held across a variety of operating platforms, securitisation programmes and legal entities.

Highveld was a mining and manufacturing group producing steel, vanadium, ferro-alloys, carbonaceous products and cans. The group was an Anglo American Corporation subsidiary, JSE top 100 company employing some 10,000 employees. My main focus was the financial control, reporting and management of the steel operations comprising some elevan operating divisions covering from mining of ore to finished structural and rolled steel product.I additionally sat on the Executive Committees of our ferro-alloys, vanadium and canning divisions and was a trustee of the group's pension and medical schemes.
