Supporting special education students in second and fifth grades.

Represented a diverse array of client s in civil litigation and non-litigation matters. Served as lead counsel in both trial and appellate matters before state and federal courts, including successfully trying cases to jury verdict and briefing and arguing appeals before Divisions One and Two of the Washington State Court of Appeals, Washington Supreme Court, and U.S. District Court for the Ninth Circuit. As partner, participated in associate hiring decisions and associate mentoring programs.

As President, led collaborations with school district general counsel, private-practice attorneys, and subject matter specialists to prepare workshops on pressing issues affecting school districts. As a member, regularly delivered presentations at workshops and conferred with other members on ways to improve legal services to school districts.

Analyzed trial court records, conducted extensive legal research on matters of civil and criminal law, prepared legal memoranda for judges’ review, authored draft version of judicial opinions. Mentored judicial interns and externs from various law schools, including the University of Washington School of Law.
