John Salib is a founding partner of the New York alternative asset management firm Landmark Advisors LLC. Landmark sponsors a number of private specialized funds of hedge funds dedicated to value investing and shareholder activism. Landmark deploys capital with managers that have a bottoms-up, fundamental methodology and a focus on cash attributes, applying a “private equity approach to the public markets.”During two of his 12 years at Landmark, Mr. Salib attended Columbia Business School to earn his MBA. For the past 10 years, Mr. Salib has served as the managing partner of Castellan Real Estate Partners. Castellan is a fully integrated real estate investment firm with business lines devoted to real estate investments, development, lending, and property management businesses. In 2009, Castellan initiated its acquisition platform to take advantage of the significant dispositions in the market caused by the financial crisis. Since inception, Castellan has invested in debt and equity real estate transactions with a market value of approximately $750 million, which included more than 1.5 million square feet of residential, retail, office, and hospitality properties.
