Mountain Fly-fishers offers the most comprehensive educational Fly-fishing programs in the Rockies, our introductory programs will take beginners as individuals or in group retreat and team building formats from absolute neophyte to consistent, effective and enjoyable casting of the fly to large cruising Trout in our basic 3 hour program, from there it just keeps getting better. We have offered "fly-fishing only" guiding and instruction services since 1985. Services offered range from short half day outings to multi day camp experiences on some of Alberta's most pristine headwater streams. While our guide services to accomplished fly fishers is one of the longest operating fly only guide services in the Rockies, we do specialize in introducing neophytes to the world of fly-fishing with destination programs offering casting, fishing and fly tying instruction.

April 2016 - It has been an interesting and challenging journey. The lodge was closed effectively on April 11th and with that ends a most personally interesting 2 year experience, a story that I am sure I will write, as it must be told. My thanks to the little team that demonstrated they had what it took to rise to the challenge of providing unrelenting committment to operating this spectacular place at a level of cleanliness beyond belief as well as consistanly welcoming guests through the doors in an unmistakably genuine manner which eptomized the essence of pure hospitality at its best. -------------------------------------------------------------------- 0 -------------------------------------------------------------------I have had many years of affiliation with this spectacular property and am thrilled to have been asked to bring it online after almost 2 years of being closed. We opened on a rooms only basis July 1st and enjoyed a great summer of excellent occupancy. We are entering the final stages of a significant renovation of the "Lodge" (Conference Center, Kitchen and Dining room) and with much work and a bit of luck,we look forward to being in full service operation by mid December. I am tremendously excited and very much looking forward to delivering the Valley's first true full service destination resort, capable of connecting our guests with the history, culture and lore of the Stoney peoples, which will be closely woven into the interpretive programming offered on a daily basis at the lodge.

I had the pleasure of leading Tourism Canmore Kananaskis as the executive director from 2003 to 2010. In that time I had the great pleasure of creating a path for the organization which ultimately grew it from a 60 member organization to a 185 member organization. During this watch, we sucessfully positioned Canmore firmly "Top of mind" with key players within the travel trade and travel media in, regional, national and international markets as a destination of choice, rather than simply as a discount alternative. The organisation's journey continues today as they lay milestone after milestone in achievement. Go Canmore!
