Broad managerial responsibilities at the leading libertarian think tank in the United States. I have been responsible for managing Cato's policy work on political institutions and public opinion, its website libertarianism.org, its online journal Cato Unbound, and its book publishing program. I served on the institution-wide policy committee and provide advice to both the CEO and the Executive Vice President of the institute. I represent the institution in policy circles and among academics.

Founded and continue to manage a research center dedicated to examining and evaluating the functioning of American political institutions.Conduct research and commission and oversee research by others, both inside and outside the Institute. Organize events related to the above areas of study, including book forums, panels, and conferences.

Teaching a course introducing the United States Constitution to undergraduate students.

Teaching a variety of courses on American politics and research methods to masters-level students.

Oversaw all activities of an academic publisher of more than twenty titles annually. Directly responsible for setting the general strategy of the press, for its overall budget, and for all personnel decisions. Fully responsible for acquiring all titles including assessing their scholarly value through peer review.

Oversaw the programs of a nonprofit foundation dedicated to public policy research. Identified authors capable of quality writing on a variety of public policy issues, a demand that first stimulated my wide-ranging interest in public finance.Advised the President of the foundation on management and substantive issues including personnel and organization.
