The privilege of having lived in extremely diverse environments and living conditions provides me the unique advantage of appreciating the value of life goals and planning. My Twitter motto is: "If you say "no" to adventure you had best be comfortable with your reason why." Raised on the farm in Manitoba and studied in Quebec, I speak 2 languages fluently, another 4 adequately and I can manage in 2 more. Ministering to youth and youth leaders I developed the Youth Ministries course at Steinbach Bible College. I have lived in Burkina Faso where we raised our children in a traditional Tagba Senufo village in traditional mud huts. I have tented for months at a time in the Congo rain forest, lived in a villa with marble driveways and a swimming pool, been chased by hippos, had to stop our vehicle to wait for elephants and families of baboons to cross the road, been bitten by spiders, come close to death several times, laughed until I fell off my chair and eaten all sorts of "stuff" including boa constrictor. I have trained teams in ministry, logistics and construction to replace me in our work as I watched them step into leadership roles themselves. I have been COO of one of Africa's most successful REDD+ projects, made life-long friends with Traditional Chiefs and so very many of my neighbours and colleagues. It is from my friends that I have learned the most. I have learned to live into every day. I have learned that absolutely every person I come in contact with brings with them the gifts of love and value and if I am open to it, they also bring with them a piece of me that I have yet to discover. Now I am back in Canada. What a journey. What an adventure! What do I have to share? A passion to help families live well in the present and to plan thoughtfully into the future. We have already been able to help several families and businesses create effective financial plans. We look forward to bringing that security to more Canadians. Let's talk about it!
