Manages the enterprise applications, including Donor systems, operational support systems (ITSM and related), engineering systems, Business intelligence systems, and ERP / Financials systems. This position also provides strategic and tactical direction for software implementation, integration, and initiatives to integrate and supplement enterprise applications.

Manage the infrastructure team responsible for enterprise storage, Linux systems and databases. Responsible for Oracle and Microsoft SQL database environments, Enterprise systems to include Oracle Linux, Netapp storage and VMware infrastructure to include host hardware procurement and installation at Gordmans. Tightly coupled with the network management team for configuration and ongoing operational support from layer 2 to layer 7 connectivity. Work closely with the information security team to manage the environments data and physical security with an open and transparent approach providing a secure and audit-able infrastructure.

Providing infrastructure architecture direction and mentoring for a team of systems architects, network architects and core database infrastructure teams. The primary OS platforms in this environment are Windows, RHEL and Solaris. The primary database platforms are Oracle 9i & 11g RAC and MSSQL 2000 and 2005. Architected and coordinated a deployment of an 11g RAC on RHEL 5 to support 10g and 11g instances on Dell blade centers and EMC CX4 SAN.

Supported Oracle database environments for in-house data processing (10g on Linux servers) and the Oracle eBusiness suite (Oracle Financials) environment. Lead DBA to upgrade the EBS environment from 11.0 to 11i (11.5.10.2) on a Solaris platform. Lead DBA in deploying a 3 node Oracle RAC on RedHat Enterprise Linux. Lead DBA on a significant patching project for the 11i environment (primarily ATG). Lead operations DBA providing daily management and direction supporting four Oracle and Microsoft DBA’s. Created and maintained documentation for deployment and ongoing operations.

Migrated the eCommerce/web server environment to Oracle/Weblogic environment running on Sun servers. Principle administrator who built and supported the initial production deployment of hardware and software for this project. Created and documented and supported daily operation procedures.

Aug 02 – Feb 03: Operational support of an Oracle Apps 11 installation for corporate accounting and finance and other Oracle 8 servers. Major accomplishments included significant tuning of the apps database and developed steps needed to upgrade the database from 8.0.5.1 to 8.0.6.3. All implementations have been done to OFA standards. Sept 99-Aug 02: Unix systems manager with six direct report sysadmin’s. Gathered business requirements, conceptualized solutions, proposed solution(s) to business owners, ordered equipment, working with VAR’s, received and deployed the equipment and managed the operational support to include upgrades and retirement of old equipment. Responsibilities were expanded to include data center environmental. Interfaced with most aspects of the company at a director and VP level. Lead administrator to grow infoUSA’s web site from a single server to 25+ servers performing various functions.

Managed the Hardware Design Environment Server architecture. Worked with a small team of sysadmins that built, deployed and supported approximately 350 Sun servers and desktop workstations. Formulated and implemented a Mentor Solaris Environment. Migrated users home directories to a Central NFS server. Assisted in the planning and execution of campus relocation.

Lead operator and full qualifications managing day to day computer operations of UNISYS 1100 series and Cray X/MP in support of the Air Force global Weather Central mission.
