A former tax litigator and Capitol Hill tax counsel and investigator, I am now the head of policy for Taxbit, a fintech company based in Salt Lake City that does tax and accounting compliance work for the digital-asset industry. I spent five years litigating the STARS cases for DOJ in various federal courts and I began my career on Capitol Hill, specifically on the Ways and Means Committee staff, by helping to develop the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in 2017. After that, I served as counsel to Sen. Charles Grassley on the Senate Committee on Finance, where I wrote the Committee's report on syndicated conservation-easement transactions, and later on the Senate Committee on the Judiciary.
